‘Every session is not a lightbulb moment, it’s like floodlights beaming, showing me exactly what I need to see and helps me understand me so much more.’
‘EFT is a powerful stress management tool that decreases anxiety, increases body awareness and encourages cognitive shifts. EFT uses some of the same points known in acupuncture but we tap instead of use needles.’
Ann Adams, EFT Master Trainer.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or ‘tapping’ is an evidence based, gentle, yet highly effective way of releasing anxiety, stress and trauma. Using elements of cognitive therapy and known acupuncture points, we tap, without needles, to address a range of issues.
Trials have established tapping is effective for anxiety, depression, pain, food cravings and trauma. It also helps to transform deeply held negative beliefs, enabling you to become calmer, more confident and more focused.
In a session, I will guide you as we address your stress, anxiety or block by tapping on pressure points on the face and body.
How it works
Tapping in this way sends calming signals to the part of the brain responsible for the flight/flight/freeze response and activates the part responsible for memories. This helps to change the way our brain processes information about the issue and a new perspective on the situation very often happens spontaneously.
The Science
Over 100 published clinical trials now show that EFT is effective for treating anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, phobias and pain. It’s also shown to reduce cortisol levels and to improve immune function. If you would like to read more of the research, click here
